If everyone only contributed a little bit towards helping the planet, the world would be a much different place. Unfortunately, most of us are consumed by the chaos of everyday life and it is difficult to make a conscientious effort towards being environmentally-friendly. So, we here at Vert have created a way for everyone to be able to contribute to the cause without missing a beat. It has never been easier to be a part of something that is so BIG, represents so much good, and ensures  the future of this planet, without even having to lift a finger. Well, maybe just a finger.

To be a part of this movement you simply have to stop buying plastic bottled water and use our stainless steel replacement. By becoming a part of the Vert Effect, you will have a major impact on the life and health of our community in the following ways:

+ The Landfill Effect:

+ The Oil Effect:

+ The Green Effect:

+ The Hydration Effect:

+ The Sea Effect:

+ The Humanitarian Effect:

Landfills are overflowing to the point where we are running out of room and the main reason for this is plastic!

Approximately 900 plastic water bottles are trashed per second. The average American consumes 167 plastic water bottles a year in which only 13% of them are recycled. Our landfills are overflowing with over 2 million tons of discarded plastic water bottles. By going VERT, you alone will save 145 plastic water bottles a year from reaching our landfills. Over the course of your life, that adds up to thousands. This is only with the efforts of yourself. Can you imagine thousands of people joining the movement.

If everyone in NYC gave up water bottles for one week, they would save 24 million bottles from being land filled. One month on the same plan would save 112 million bottles and one year would save 1.328 billion bottles from going into the landfill. So join the movement and have a Vert Effect!

"Gas is going up every year and cars aren't the only reason."

The Plastic water bottle industry is very costly financially and environmentally speaking. Every year 17 million barrels of crude oil are used to make plastic water bottles. 33 million barrels of crude oil are used in the process of pumping, processing, transporting, and refrigerating the bottled water. That totals a staggering 50 million barrels of oil used annually for the production of bottled water. 50mil barrels is the equivalent in oil to run 3,000,000 cars for one year. They are telling us that our cars and trucks that we drive everyday are the problem. It turns out we are the problem. Because of our plastic water bottle addiction we are not only destroying the planet, but we are indirectly hurting the economy because every year our gas prices go up.

By going VERT we can begin to rehab the planet and break this horrible addiction. The water bottle habit cannot go on forever otherwise we will no longer be able to coexist on this Planet. The answer is VERT.

"Why pay for something that's already free?"

Imagine this scenario for one minute. Iced tea was your favorite drink in the world. You drink iced tea with breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You drink it with every snack throughout your day. Every time you turned on the faucet in your house, iced tea would pour out. You have a never-ending supply of iced tea for FREE! My guess is that if this scenario were true, you would NEVER AGAIN go to the store and spend your money on it. Why would you? Well guess what everybody, we all have free water pouring out of our faucets everyday of our lives and we still choose to go out to the store and pay money for a 24-pack of bottled water.

Now just think about this for a moment.
Does this make any sense?

I didn’t think so either. With VERT, you will no longer be wasting your money on something that you already have for free. The average American spends HUNDREDS of dollars a year just on bottled water. We want to change that here at VERT and want to make you healthier and wealthier.

"Do you want to live a long and healthy life."

Science has shown that the human body is made up of 70% water. They say that you should drink 8 glasses of water per day to be at your optimal health. Well in the busy world today it is hard enough to eat three meals a day if not two let alone drink 8 glasses of water per day. With VERT we have found that you will end up drinking much more water then you normally had, for the simple reason of; rather then throwing out your plastic bottle you now constantly have your VERT water bottle with you which creates the habit of always taking a sip and always keeping it filled. By always keeping your VERT bottle with you, you will constantly be drinking from it keeping your body hydrated and at optimal performance. You’ll look and feel great and will have begun to feel the VERT effect.

I just like the way bottled water tastes and its not effecting me so why should I care?

There is a chemical found in plastic water bottles called Bisphenol A, also known as BPA. It is found in most food and drink containers, as well as the resin linings in aluminum cans. Studies have shown that this chemical can leach into the food or liquid being held and may be ingested. Other metal water bottles may contain this harmful compound as well. It has caused health problems in animal trials and researchers are concerned of the health effects they pose to people. While the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says that current levels of exposure to BPA may not pose an immediate health risk, the FDA does admit that more research is needed to fully understand the impact of the chemical. With Vert, our stainless steel water bottles are made of the same material as the pots and pans that you cook with on an everyday basis. These bottles are BPA FREE! So whether or not it is ever proven that this chemical is harmful to our health, we here at VERT feel that you shouldn’t have to take that risk and have provided a way for you to drink your beverages safely and cleanly.

You might need a HazMat suit the next time you go for a swim:

Almost 90% of all floating marine garbage is plastic. There are 46,000 pieces of plastic found per square mile of ocean. That's like dumping 50 pieces of plastic trash onto each of the Empire State Building's 102 floors. Think anyone would notice?

There are oceanic currents around the world that direct this plastic into concentrated areas called "garbage patches". There has been speculation that these garbage patches were like islands of trash the size of Texas, floating out in the middle of the ocean. They were wrong.

These garbage patches, at first glance, cannot be seen. There is no visible floating island of trash. Turns out, the majority of plastic in our oceans has already disintegrated into the water and has become a permanent element of our ocean's composition, creating a soup-like mixture.

Scientists refer to this as a "plastic soup". This soup is no longer isolated to just the garbage patches. It's everywhere. This disintegrated plastic, also known as "microplastic", when exposed to the sun, acts like a sponge and absorbs toxins and other chemicals found in the water.

Fish and other marine life are then attracted to it, thinking it's food, and eat it. Bigger fish eat the smaller fish and this continues up the food chain until the plastic eventually ends up on your kitchen table. Yummy.

That's not to mention the 1 million birds or the hundreds of thousands of other animals (whales, dolphins, turtles, etc.) that choke or tangle themselves in it every year.

So, the next time you go for a swim, think about what you're paddling through. Soup, anyone?

"May your conscience be as clear as your water."

One-sixth of our world's population is plagued by a very serious issue. Millions of people die every year and little is being done about it. That's 42,000 deaths per week, 90% of which are children under five years old. To put this number in perspective, it causes more deaths per year than all violence worldwide. And that's including war.

Do you have any idea what this issue is?
Most people don't. And that's why we want to bring it to the forefront.

There are nearly one billion people--that's triple the entire U.S. population--who do not have clean drinking water. Everyday, people walk for hours in search of water, utilizing vital time that could be otherwise spent to work, learn and spend time with their families. And after their long journey what they find is dirty, stagnant and infested water. This water is often the only drinkable option. Unfortunately, what lurks beneath the surface can cause serious illness or even death:

This very real scenario can be alleviated with your help. We here at Vert believe in healing the planet and helping the people of this world. We believe that every human deserves access to one of the most basic necessities of life: clean drinking water.

So, for every Vert bottle sold, $1.00 will be donated to supplying clean drinking water to the people of these struggling countries. Every donation goes towards the project of building a fresh water well. Each water well that is built will supply a village with clean drinking water for almost 20 years. Your small donation will have an enormous impact! Your $1.00 will supply one person with clean drinking water for an ENTIRE YEAR!

You can make a difference! Join the cause and have a Vert Effect!
